In 2012, Draga (Becopro's street name ) started his career as a graffiti artist and visual artist. At the time, without knowing the rules of the streets, he ended up passing over the work of other people, a practice known as "ratar" (in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil) that means “capping”,  "paint over", a taboo in the street art, which resulted in threats and problems.

Several years later, inspired by his personal experience, he decided to make transgression a theme for his art and take graffiti, its language and behavior to the traditional channels of art.

The artist's idea was to break this taboo, developing canvases and giving them to other artists, graffiti artists from different areas of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) to "cap" him, to make interventions in his paintings. This was the first edition of the project Rateio, Rateio Nit, that had the participation of more than 20 graffiti writers from Rio de Janeiro.
"Rateio SP" was the 2nd edition of the "Rateio" project, which was carried out in São Paulo in 2023. The project consisted of an artistic residency where the collaboration/ fusion/  overlapping of graffiti artist Rafael Draga's art with other artists resulted in paintings that were and continued to be exhibited in art exhibitions.

"Rateio SP" is a project mainly sponsored by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture (SMC), Niterói Art Foundation (FAN), Niterói City Hall and ULE.

The project also has the support of Coletivo Transverso, Estúdio Lâmina and FUNARTE, where the artist produced at the Alex Vallauri studio at Complexo Cultural Funarte SP in residence with the master graffiti artist Ozi, who has been working in the field of graffiti since 1985.
We greatly appreciate all the support received and everyone’s participation!
